Employment and entrepreneurship

Skills that earn. Businesses that last.

Connect training to paid experience, real customers and safer working conditions.

What we will do

Three practical steps

A tailoring course is a start. Practice, reliable tools and paying customers help turn that skill into a living.

  1. Gain a skill
  2. Get experience
  3. Build earnings
  1. Learn through paid work

Develop apprenticeships with a supervisor, an agreed skill and safe conditions.

  2. Help businesses operate

Offer practical support with records, product quality, registration and finding customers.

  3. Measure real results

Track earnings, work that lasts and businesses still trading, not just enrolment numbers.

From the full programme

Delivery safeguards and conditions

Every placement has terms

An agreement, a supervisor, an assessed skill, safe conditions and a defined public contribution.

Pay suppliers on time

Our payment commitment: within 30 days of a valid invoice on new, properly funded contracts.

Honest counting

Enrolments, completions, placements and work retained at six and twelve months reported separately.

Sport and culture

Usable community facilities and transparent small-grant competitions, never dependent on performing for a party.

How to judge progress

Check the result

  • Were placements paid?
  • Is work continuing?
  • Are supported businesses still serving customers?

2031 delivery target

Paid apprenticeship placements assessed

Target
up to 20,000

A five-year pathway of up to 20,000 placements will be assessed. Placements, not a guarantee of permanent jobs.
